In collaboration with Centre d’appui aux communautés immigrantes (CACI), the Armenian General Benevolent Union organized an Armenian Christmas party on January 2nd, 2016  for the newly arrived Syrian-Armenian families.

More than six hundred people challenging the cold weather attended the festive event, enjoying Armenian music, food, and sharing the dance floor in what was described as the “biggest Armenian Christmas party”.

Mr. Chahe Tanachian, Chairman of the AGBU Executive Board welcomed all the attendees and conveyed his greetings on the occasion of the new year. He outlined the work that AGBU does in Canada and encouraged the newly arrived families to get involved in the life of our community.

On this occasion, the General-Director of CACI, Ms. Anait Aleksanian expressed her joy and thanked the AGBU Montreal. She made a brief presentation on the work that CACI does and greeted the newly arrived Syrian-Armenian families.

The AGBU Montreal Youth Committee members led by their leaders did valuable volunteer work, contributing to the success of this event.
