The Armenian Jewellers Association of Montreal held a special networking event on Wednesday November 18, 2015 to recognize the class of 11 Syrian Armenian expatriates who were selected by the Armenian Jewellers Foundation (AJF) for scholarship at the prestigious École de gemmologie de Montreal (EGM).

A number of other Syrian Armenian jewellers who have recently resettled in Montreal were also invited and got acquainted with the association’s local members representing mainly jewellery manufacturing and retailing companies.

AGBU Montreal supported the AJF initiative to provide study grants to young Syrian Armenian expatriates by organizing information sessions during the summer. This scholarship, which is co-funded by the Birks Family Foundation, will be offered for a second term in January 2016. AGBU Montreal Executive Hagop Arslanian was present at the event and congratulated the organizers on this initiative.
