On March 15, 2016 AGBU held a youth gathering for Syrian and Iraqi Armenians at Alex Manoogian Community Center in Montreal. The purpose of this gathering was to welcome the newly arrived Syrian Armenians who were interested in taking part in AGBU youth initiatives.

After two previous successful events organized by a small number of these young adults, a meeting was scheduled to meet and draft youth projects. On this occasion, Vana Jiji, an active participant in our youth initiatives said “When I started attending the AGBU Montreal events and participated in its projects, I felt like I was home in Aleppo and I’m sure that this community center can be home for every Armenian newcomer in Montreal”.

A presentation was put together by Mrs. Rahel Ourfalian, concentrating on AGBU’s work internationally. Rahel spoke about the AGBU Montreal projects, initiatives and their realization especially during the past two years, with the objective to strengthen the Armenian spirit in today’s youth in Canada.

At the end of the gathering, Board Member Hagop Arslanian commended and congratulated our youth and briefly spoke about the significance of the mission of AGBU in Canada
